Dear Milton High School Parents,
As parents of high school students we know that whether your children are new to high school, preparing to graduate, or somewhere in between, they - and you - have a host of concerns. We want you to know that the PTSA is here for you, the students, and the faculty and staff.

The PTSA provides these services through your membership, contributions and support:
  • We publish the online school newsletter, The EM2, which informs you of upcoming events, celebrates student achievements, presents critical information from the Guidance office, and updates from the administration.
  • We conduct drug, alcohol, health and safety awareness programs to educate and enable our teens in wise decision making.
  • We publish a student directory - available only to PTSA members - to help us stay in touch.
  • We offer Mini-Grants to teachers to help them purchase materials for special projects in the classroom, which enhances the learning experience for your student.
  • We provide volunteer staffing for the media center, attendance office, college and career center and guidance office.
  • We provide academia support in the means of supplies, curricular support material and other items which support the academic mission. This is a new area of support due to recent drastic budget cuts.
  • We sponsor the national Reflections program, honoring students for their creative efforts in the arts.
  • We actively advocate on behalf of all students for legislation concerning issues such as school nurses, driving ages, and curriculum.

JOIN YOUR PTSA NOW

We'd like for you to join us. You can help in four ways:
  • Become a member: Click Here for membership form. Membership is our only fundraiser of the year, and the way all the services above are funded.

  • Volunteer: All the above items are possible through the work of volunteers. The great thing is you get to choose what you're involved with, how much time you want to put into it, and whether you prefer to help from home or at school. Believe us when we say we welcome everyone at any level of participation:
  • Advertise: Place your ad in the 2010-2011 student directory and reach over 2000 households in your immediate market area.

  • Donate: Due to recent budget cuts, PTSA will be accepting donations, which are above what you support through membership levels. These additional donations will be applied to academia support as guided by school administration.

We encourage you to be pro-active in staying informed about your student's school life and happenings by visiting Milton High School's website at www.miltonhighschool.com - often! This is the way to view PTSA information, link to ParentConnect to keep up with your student's academics, stay informed about athletics, clubs, announcements, and faculty email addresses and more. On the home page is an opportunity to sign up for the MHS Email list - to receive links to the EM2, class specific notifications and much more.

Welcome to school year 2010-2011 at Milton High. We'll see you at Orientation in August!
